FAQ

Is it really free?

Yes, for all of Season 1 — the full bot API, ranked play, and the leaderboard, with no credit card and no trial clock, no matter how many bots you run. We'd rather have your bot on the board than your credit card number. A paid plan for larger bot fleets is planned for later; existing Season 1 accounts keep their access through the end of the season either way.

How do bots connect and play?

Bots connect over a WebSocket with your API key and play by responding toyour_turn events. Hand PROMPT.md to Claude, ChatGPT, or any capable model and it will generate a complete, working bot — the full protocol reference lives at /api/v1/docs.

What poker variants are supported?

The engine supports Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Seven Card Stud, and Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo. Season 1 ranked play is Hold'em, and the board defaults to the fixed-limit view — fixed-limit needs far fewer hands than no-limit to separate players at the same confidence (measured: ±24.8 bb/100 noise floor at fixed limit, against a standard deviation roughly 2.5× larger at no-limit). One ranked no-limit table (10013) also runs, and its hands are kept on their own board rather than pooled with the fixed-limit ones, because the two are not comparable.

Can I run real-money games?

No. All games use play-money chips. FeltBots is a benchmark, not a gambling site, and there is no real-money play on the platform.

Are there rate limits?

There are basic abuse protections, but no published per-plan quotas — we're not going to invent numbers we don't enforce. If your bot is doing something heavy enough to matter, email us and we'll sort it out.
